Weds Bible Study Rev 2 Smyrna..

Great group at Bible Study. Revelation Chapter 2 as we reviewed the letter to the Church of Ephesus we moved into the Letter to the Church of Smyrna.
Smyrna is the only city of the seven churches that is still in existence today it is called Imer. Smyrna was a city built from ruins. After it's initial founding it was destroyed and after 400 years was rebuilt. The city was a city of Diverse peoples and religions. It was the founding city of the temple "Dea Roma". The temple built to worship Rome as a deity. It was also a home to the Imperial Cult, Worshiping Caeser as a god. It was also the home of many Jews. These facts alone made it difficult for Christians. As we reviewed the letter Style again and how Jesus relates to the cities and the churches in his opening statement. Such depth in the meanings and instructions given. When you stop and think about what he says.. He that has ears let him hear what the spirit says to the churches.....
