Remember to read the Bible in its context......

In the last few days I have been approached by persons seeking what Hod says about certain issues. They always ask me, Pastor what does the bible say about... I believe that I can give you scripture reference but you need to read and study it for yourself. Their is no benefit to you being convicted by mans words but there is eternal benefit to conviction by Gods word. When you read John 3:16 its important to you to understand what it means. When you read Leviticus please take the time to understand who God is talking to, the circumstances surrounding his revelation to them and how they reacted. Then look at it from today. Again the Great Questions remain. Does Gods word mean what is says or says what it means? and What does it mean to me. Follow Rules 1. and 2.. Rule 1: There is a God. 2. You ain't him!

Here is some info to clear and help those working on what abomination is in the Bible. Hope it helps.

Strongs exhaustive concordance of the Bible says:

AbominationABOMINA'TION, n. 1. Extreme hatred; detestation.
2. The object of detestation, a common signification in scripture.
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord. Prov 15.
3. Hence, defilement, pollution, in a physical sense, or evil doctrines and practices, which are moral defilements, idols and idolatry, are called abominations. The Jews were an abomination to the Egyptians; and the sacred animals of the Egyptians were an abomination to the Jews. The Roman army is called the abomination of desolation. Mat 24:13. In short, whatever is an object of extreme hatred, is called an abomination.

Lev 18:6-18(6) None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.(7) The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.(8) The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.(9) The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.(10) The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. (11) The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.(12) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.(13) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.(14) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.(15) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.(16) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.(17) Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.(18) Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.

Lev 18:20(20) Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.
